Alberta Government Report dispels claims of Insurance Bureau of Canada
Jan 12, 2026 – While the Insurance Bureau of Canada continues to blame innocent injury victims for the higher costs in Alberta’s system, a government report paints a different story.
As the Alberta Civil Trial Lawyers Association has stated, following review of the Alberta Superintendent of Insurance’s 2024 Annuel Report, insurance companies are profitable on the bodily injury side. “Insurance companies paid out significantly less than they collected for these premiums – 44% less in both 2023 and 2024.”
